What changes when VTT becomes PDF?
The PDF is a readable document view of WebVTT captions. It retains cue order and timing context, but WebVTT positioning, regions, CSS, and player-only markup are not reproduced as PDF layout rules.

The browser-safe PDF font supports common Latin text. If a caption contains a glyph outside that coverage, Whisper Web fails clearly so you can use DOCX or TXT instead and keep the original characters intact.

Preserve the source for the web
Keep the VTT file when its browser presentation matters. If the receiving caption workflow uses SRT, choose VTT to SRT; if a character is outside the PDF font coverage, use DOCX or TXT from the Subtitle Converter instead.

Why might PDF export stop for my subtitles?
The browser-safe PDF font does not cover every Unicode script or symbol. Whisper Web stops rather than silently replacing unsupported glyphs; DOCX or TXT is the safer Unicode-preserving output.
